We are proud to announce our association with our local LIVES group in Donington and Bicker, we heard that they are requiring donations to continue their good work, so we stepped forward to help.

LIVES volunteers respond alongside the East Midlands Ambulance Service attending 999 calls, which could vary from cardiac arrest, breathing difficulties, paediatrics and even trauma. Within LIVES, volunteers are trained to become responders, the responders are based within the community so that they are ready to be dispatched by ambulance control to a 999 call quickly.

Cheryl Clark, director of Molsom Family Eyecare in Donington said, “I must admit, prior to our company involvement, I didn’t really know a lot about LIVES. Obviously I had heard of them, knew they attended medical emergencies, and that their staff are volunteers, but now thanks to the discussions I have had with our local co-ordinator, Adam, I am more aware of the amount of time the LIVES volunteers donate to such a worthwhile cause. It is such a vital service that they provide in our rural area.”

She continues “Our company is a welcoming family business, and I strive to assist the local community in a variety of ways. When I learnt that there was to be a local branch, here in Donington looking for sponsorship, I decided to investigate further. After all, who knows when a friend, family member or even ourselves may need the expertise of these diligent volunteers. It is a great honour and pleasure to be a corporate sponsor of the Donington and Bicker branch of LIVES. I wish the charity a fulfilling future in the area.”

Adam Hern (LIVES Donington Group Coordinator) says “It was delightful to hear of the news that Molsom Family Eyecare in Donington were making a donation to the group. I collected a cheque from Cheryl Clarke and Andy Molsom for £600.00 which will be put towards life saving equipment that the group needs.”

He added, “Donington LIVES group is a relatively new group, and with the donation from Molsom Family Eyecare Ltd we have been able to put this towards personal protective equipment for responders and a sum towards a new kit bag. This will enable our group to have multiple responders on duty and as LIVES is a charity, we solely depend on the kind generosity from the general public and local businesses.”
