New name for Donington Opticians – January 2014clark-eyecare

Donington opticians, Molsom Family Eyecare Ltd is rebranding. Mr Molsom has decided to reduce his role in the company, although he will still be available for eye examinations. The new company will be named Clark Family Eyecare Ltd and will be wholly owned by previous co-director Mrs Cheryl Clark. As one would expect there will be a few minor changes. We have a new logo (see picture) and as you can see our new corporate colours are two tone blue. I am pleased to say there will be no change in our staff or services, you can expect the same friendly care and advice as you have always experienced. The Opticians practice was opened in Donington in May 2008 by Andrew Molsom & his sister Cheryl Clark after 11 successful years working together in Spalding, where Cheryl was Practice manager. Since opening the Donington practice, Cheryl’s daughter – Annica has joined the business and is working towards her Dispensing Optician qualification. Cheryl has over 30 years of optical experience and values the care given to the customers. “We pride ourselves on our professional services and the relationship we’ve built with local people, many of whom have become friends. It’s about putting people’s needs first every time.” said Cheryl.

The business employs two additional Optometrists at Donington Tracey Griffiths who has been working with us since we opened in Spalding in 1997, and Robert Young who previously worked in Boston. Andy and Robert both specialise in fitting Contact Lenses and Dry Eye Treatments.

The practice caters for the requirements of both NHS eligible patients and private patients by offering a choice of eye examinations. “With today’s technology we can discover so much about a person’s general health as well as their eye care needs so we always encourage our patients to choose an advanced eye examination. This includes taking a photo of the retina; the inside surface of the eye. This is called Retinal Photography, and enables us to compare further photographs at subsequent eye examinations. This process helps us to detect even the smallest change and serves as an early warning system for all sorts of health conditions, not just those solely related to the eyes. High blood pressure, Diabetes and raised cholesterol levels are a few examples of what can be detected” said Cheryl. NHS patients can upgrade to an advanced examination if they wish for a nominal charge.

In addition to the high-tech clinical services offered to patients, the business prides itself on the choice of spectacle collections, sunglasses and lens types available to suit everyone’s pocket. The practice teams are well-trained and are always very happy to offer advice on frames and lenses to ensure patients get the most from their vision and look good in the process.

Clark Family Eyecare is located in the Market Place where we have disabled access. Local car parks are free.
