Fifteen years ago local Optician Andy Molsom opened his first independent community practice in Spalding. From the outset it was his aim to offer exceptional eye care and eye wear at value for money prices to local people. Since establishment the business has gone from strength to strength. We are proud to announce our association with our local LIVES group in Donington and Bicker, we heard that they are requiring donations to continue their good work, so we stepped forward to help.

LIVES volunteers respond alongside the East Midlands Ambulance Service attending 999 calls, which could vary from cardiac arrest, breathing difficulties, paediatrics and even trauma. Within LIVES, volunteers are trained to become responders, the responders are based within the community so that they are ready to be dispatched by ambulance control to a 999 call quickly.

Local community optician Andy Molsom has just announced that his niece Annica Clark, has joined the family business, Molsom & Associates, to train as a Qualified Dispensing Optician. She has spent the past 18 months gaining experience at the firms Donington practice with her Mum, Cheryl Clark, and is now stepping up to take the professional qualification.

Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) -August 2011

The very latest research presented at the AMD conference in July 2011 at Cambridge University, by scientists from the Waterford Institute of Vision Research in Ireland, and to be published in scientific journals in the near future helps us to understand how the eye can be helped to slow down the wear and tear that is essentially macular degeneration.
